About the course
The Level 2 Barbering Professional is made up of 2 parts. All apprentices will complete the core skills
and knowledge in and will choose the occupational option route for Barbering in -

Mandatory core skills and knowledge for Barbering in –

Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp

Cut hair using barbering techniques to create a variety of looks

Style and finish men’s hair Cut facial hair into shape

Shaving services
The two parts of the qualification will be observed or assessed within the working environment and at the end point assessment stage, where an independent end point assessor will observe the learner completing a selection of looks.

Entry Requirements
You do not require any qualifications prior to starting this course however, apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level and apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to take the tests for this level prior to taking the end-point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeship’s English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3. A British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is an alternative to the English qualification for those whose primary language is BSL.
Duration
Typical duration of this course is 18 - 24 months. This does not include the EPA (End Point Assessment).
What qualifications will I gain?
You will gain a Level 2 Barbering Accredited Qualification.
Role Suitability
Working as a barber to provide hair cutting, styling and grooming services.
