About the Role

An exciting opportunity to work as an Admin/Accounts/Reception Apprentice and the chance to earn whilst you learn and gain an industry recognised qualification. We are offering full training and a Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship as part of this role.

  •  Accept incoming calls and filter as required

  • Welcome visitors

  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post deliveries – sort and distribute to relevant staff

  • Order stationery

  • Log invoices on the purchase register and onto the order log

  • Deal with invoices for payment and signing off

  • Enter payments onto payments received and contract numbers

  • Direct Debits receipts/enter onto xero

  • Prep creditors report for payment

  • Do remittance advice notes for the payments of invoices

  • Email confirmations

  • Receive payments and take cheques to the bank

  • Look after CIS (Monthly returns)

  • Send out statements

  • Check expenses and file on the system

  • Keep petty cash up to date

  • Keep record of subcontractor’s insurance certificates

  • Keep Health & Safety certificates up to date

  • Create company profiles

  • Do housekeeping checks monthly

  • Keep refreshments facilities stocked up

  • Look after company car files/inspection forms and keep up to date

  • Set up a system for car tax & MOT’s

  • Assist chasing debtors

Beginning in 1991, our client was formed in Manchester by three BMS leading engineers from Trend Controls contracting team. Thirty years ago, the demand for unique engineering expertise was increasing with the popularity of new generation of BMS. This computer processor technology was identified as a way to keep buildings comfortable and efficient, and was being specified to replace conventional controls systems in the UK. Simon, Dave and Jon, the three owners, who remain within the business to this day, have developed the company and its employees and systems to retain the whole system focus, to ensure quality and reliability for customers new and old. Over the past thirty years, our client has grown organically from a team of five in 1991, to a team of fifty in 2020. The vast majority of current staff are field engineers, located strategically across the UK to serve customers efficiently and economically. Having provided thousands of new installations throughout the company’s history, a major focus in service and maintenance over the past ten years has enabled more and more customers to benefit from our experience. Our client believes passionately in the engineers of the future, and have given opportunities to many young local people, some of whom are still with the company almost twenty years later.
