About this course
This qualification supports the Learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. Although part of an apprenticeship, this qualification is available outside of an apprenticeship where either the learner’s circumstances prevent them undertaking a full apprenticeship or where their prior skills and knowledge mean they do not require all components of the apprenticeship. In addition, industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

What to expect during your course
Practical Observation on-site. This includes documenting tasks like:
- Preparing mortar to the correct consistency and workability.
- Laying bricks accurately and efficiently, including the use of various laying patterns and techniques.
- Cutting and shaping bricks to fit specific requirements.
- Workbook questionnaire to be completed over a 6-8 week period, at your own pace.

Employment
In order to take this course you will need to be employed or have work organised in order to collect evidence. We do not find employment for you.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this Level 2 NVQ Trowel Occupations (Bricklayer). However, you will need to be working on a construction site as a bricklayer to be able to enrol in this qualification.
