Skills Bootcamps
Skills Bootcamps are short, intensive training programs designed to quickly equip adults with in-demand skills, helping them advance in their current careers or transition into new fields. They are particularly focused on addressing skills shortages in sectors like construction, security and green technologies. These programs offer a pathway to better jobs, potentially leading to higher pay and new opportunities.
Eligibility
You may be eligible to join a Skills Bootcamp in Lancashire if you:
- Are aged 19 or over
- Live in Lancashire, including Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool*
- Have lived in the UK for 3 or more years, or you are a qualifying refugee
- Can commit the time to complete, and have a real desire to increase your earnings

Skills Bootcamp in Advanced Passive Fire Protection Level 3
Includes: Accredited Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work, ABBE Level 3 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment, and CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS).

Including: Accredited ProQual Level 3 Award in Intermediate Fire Risk Assessment, followed by ProQual Level 5 Diploma in Passive Fire Protection Inspection, and CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).

Who are they for?
To be considered for Skills Bootcamp you must be 19 years or older. The courses are aimed at medium to higher level skills. You must also be one of the following;
- Self-employed
- Employed
- Unemployed
- Returning to work after a break
- Resident of the UK or able to work legally in the UK
Cost
The cost of these courses are free for learners as long as they meet the criteria. For employers it’s a little different, take a look below.
- You will receive a 100% discount for the courses if you are self-employed.
- For small to medium employers, you will receive a 90% discount for all courses.
- Larger employers will contribute 30% to total fee costs with a 70% discount.
