About this course
This qualification is suitable for practicing multi-traders, handymen, and people working in the repair, refurbishment and maintenance of buildings. This NVQ provides formal recognition of practicing as a multi-trader or handyman.
It offers learners the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and practical skills in to work across trades to carry out basic repair and refurbishment operations in a construction environment.

Overview
To achieve this qualification a minimum of 62 credits need to be attained. To achieve this qualification learners must successfully complete/achieve all four (4) Mandatory units, at least one (1) unit from Optional Group A and all the required Optional units from at least a minimum of two (2) Optional Groups B-G. If you choose Optional groups B – F, you have to choose a minimum of two units from these groups, if you choose Optional group G as one of the Optional groups, you choose one unit only.
Duration
An assessment plan will be discussed with an assessor during your initial induction and a planned end date will be agreed. Q2W would expect your NVQ qualification to be completed within 4 to 6 weeks. Q2W offer fast-track options.
What you receive
Assessment for the Level 2 NVQ in Plant Operations is primarily conducted in the workplace, allowing candidates to demonstrate their competence in real-life scenarios. Qualified assessors from Valley Plant training observe and evaluate candidates’ performance, ensuring they meet the required standards set by the relevant industry authorities. Upon successful completion, candidates receive a nationally recognised certification, validating their competency as plant operators, this NVQ Certificate is a life time achievement and does not require retraining.
Funding
This NVQ is eligible to claim the CITB Short Qualification Grant. If you are a CITB-registered employer and up-to-date with your Levy returns, then £600 can be claimed upon completion of the NVQ.
Employment
Centres should carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment. In order to take this course you will need to be employed or have work organised in order to collect evidence. We do not find employment for you.
