Overview

This qualification is aimed at those who are involved in assembling, installing and subsequently removing formwork. It is not expected that candidates working in this industry all do the same activities; the qualification is structured to ensure that there is a high degree of flexibility while still meeting the requirements of the qualification units. 

About this qualification

The qualification requires candidates to prove they have the skills and knowledge to work with timber and proprietary formwork systems primarily for columns, walls, beams, soffits, kickers and pre-cast units in accordance with legislation, health and safety guidelines and meet the organisational requirements. This qualification is at Level 2, although some units may be at different levels and should be taken by those who deal with routine assignments. Candidates should require minimum supervision in undertaking the job.
