Overview

This qualification is for you if you wish to work as a dry liner in the construction industry. Dry lining is the fitting of plaster board or other board material to finish walls and ceilings, in place of the more traditional plastering. Many modern domestic and commercial properties will be finished with dry lining instead of plaster, and this qualification will provide you with the skills needed to work as a dry liner in the industry. This qualification is suitable for you if you are 16 years old or over.

  • health, safety and welfare in construction

  • principles of building construction

  • communicating information

  • install suspended ceiling systems

  • install partitions

  • install wall linings and encasement systems

  • fix sheet materials using direct bond method

  • apply taping and jointing systems to plasterboard

  • understand specialist systems for dry lining and interiors

  • apply finishing plaster to plasterboard

  • apply and finish sprayed plasters to plasterboard.
