Course Overview In this course, you will learn the basic techniques and principles of Swedish back massage, a therapeutic massage technique that uses long strokes, kneading, and circular movements to alleviate tension and promote relaxation in the muscles of the back. You will also learn about the anatomy and physiology of the back, as well as common conditions and injuries that may affect this area. Course Objectives - Understand the history and principles of Swedish back massage. - Learn about the anatomy and physiology of the back, including the muscles, bones, and joints. - Develop proficiency in the basic techniques of Swedish back massage, including effleurage, petrissage, friction, vibration, and tapotement. - Learn how to perform a full Swedish back massage sequence, including positioning. - Identify common conditions and injuries that may affect the back, such as sprains, strains, and herniated discs, and learn how to adapt massage techniques to address these issues. - Develop effective communication skills to establish rapport with clients, understand their needs, and provide appropriate feedback. - Understand the importance of client safety, including hygiene, sanitation, and infection control procedures. - Develop a professional demeanour and ethical practice, including appropriate boundaries, informed consent, and confidentiality. Course Delivery The course will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to practice on mannequins and live models. Participants will also receive a course manual with detailed information. Assessment Assessment for the course will be based on both theoretical and practical components. Theoretical assessment will be based on quizzes and assignments, while practical assessment will be based on a final practical exam. A passing grade of 70% is required to successfully complete the course. Duration of Course The course will be conducted over a period of 1 day. Qualifications You will achieve a certificate upon completion of the course which will allow you to become insured in providing Swedish Back Massage services.


Cancellation Policy

All of our courses are non-refundable from the moment you pay. This is due to the confirmation email being sent over to you as soon as you have booked/paid. You must cancel before 14 days of the course start date if they are a classroom course. If you do not attend and do not cancel, this will result in 100% of the course fee charged. If you can provide a medical certificate or evidence can be provided the course can then transferred to a new date. 1st2 Achieve Training Ltd is under no obligation to refund any fees paid. Any other refunds will be at the discretion of 1st2 Achieve Training Ltd.
