insulation and building treatments

This qualification is ideal for those working in the construction industry and specialising in insulation and building treatments.

decorative finisher and industrial painter

This qualification is for candidates who work or want to work as a painter and industrial painter. It provides an opportunity for them to demonstrate their competence in the area via an NVQ.

Interior Construction

These qualifications are for learners who work or want to work as a dry liner, ceiling fixer, partitioner or access floorer in the construction sector.

Plastering Wall

This qualification is ideal for individuals who work as a solid or fibrous plasterer in the construction sector. It provides an opportunity for them to demonstrate their competence in this area and gain a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plastering.

building a wall

This qualification enables you to work as a bricklayer in the construction industry. As a bricklayer, you will build walls for new homes and developments, and repair and refurbish walls on existing homes and restoration projects. You will erect masonry structures and cladding in a variety of contexts, and learn to work safely as part of a team.

Lifting Wood

This occupational qualification is for candidates who work or want to work as a site carpenter, bench joiner or a shopfitter bench joiner in the construction sector.

cladding construction

This qualification is aimed at those who are involved in installing roof sheeting and cladding systems and associated tasks on site working from drawings and specifications. 

curtain wall installation

This qualification is aimed at those who work as installers of curtain walling systems. The standards cover the most important aspects of the job. This qualification is at Level 2, although some qualifications may have units at different levels, and should be taken by those who are fully trained to deal with routine assignments.

Concrete Bucket & Trowel

This qualification is for learners who work or want to work as a dry liner, ceiling fixer, partitioner or access floorer in the construction sector.

plastering

This qualification is aimed at those who are involved in plastering activities in the workplace. It is not expected
that candidates working in this industry all do the same activities so the qualification has been developed to allow opportunities for those carrying out work in any one of the following broad categories: solid basic plastering, solid full plastering, basic fibrous plastering and full fibrous plastering.

Worker on construction site

This qualification is specifically aimed at those carrying out general construction operations work; there is a Level 2 qualification for those involved in maintenance along with a suite of specific qualifications in a wide range of construction occupations available.

fenestration installation

This qualification is aimed at those who work as installers of glass supporting systems, which include window and door units. The standards cover the most important aspects of the job.

Floor tiling

This is a work-based learning qualification that enables individuals to work as a tiler in the construction industry. It is not expected that all tilers carry out exactly the same tasks or work in the same environment, this is taken into account and the qualification can be assessed in both domestic, e.g. kitchens, bathrooms or in commercial sites such as shops, hotels, offices or restaurants.

This qualification is aimed at those who have responsibility for carrying out work in construction related wood occupations in the workplace and onsite. 

fire protection

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Associated Industrial Services Occupations – Passive Fire Protection qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in Passive Fire Protection within the construction industry or progress onto further learning. 

formwork

This qualification is aimed at those who are involved in assembling, installing and subsequently removing formwork. It is not expected that candidates working in this industry all do the same activities; the qualification is structured to ensure that there is a high degree of flexibility while still meeting the requirements of the qualification units.

plastering a wall

This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to prove they have the level and range of knowledge and skills required to carry out activities in the Construction working environment related to Interior Systems activities, in 1 of 2 categories; General or Plant Operations.

dry lining finishing

This qualification is aimed at those who are involved with interior systems (ceiling fixing, dry lining finishing and protection barrier installations) in Construction.

Manager at Construction Site

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Associated Industrial Services Occupations – Passive Fire Protection qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in Passive Fire Protection within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.

construction supervisors

This qualification is aimed those who carry out supervisory activities in a specific trade in the Construction Industry. The qualification certificate will carry an endorsement to show what trades the candidate was supervising during completion of this qualification. 

Cutting Wood

This qualification is aimed at those who install doors, windows and conservatories or curtain walling. This qualification is at Level 3, and should be taken by those who are experienced installers capable of dealing with a wide range of problems, including working with installations that have complex requirements, and who are capable of dealing with all aspects of an installation, including the identification and rectification of technical problems.

plaster and bucket

This Level 3 Diploma qualification provides learners with a range of Fibrous Plastering skills and knowledge. Learners will also develop an understanding of the health and safety requirements for working in the construction industry.

Building Homes

This qualification is aimed at those who are involved in either site carpentry including first and second fixing, those who are involved in shopfitting site work or those who carry out shopfitting bench work.
