WHY SHOULD YOU  EMPLOY AN  APPRENTICE?

What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a mixture of working and learning, once your apprentice passes their standard, they will be awarded an accredited qualification in that subject. An apprentice can be paid the national minimum wage of £4.81 per hour and must work 30 hours minimum a week. They will work in your company on either a part-time or full-time contract whilst our tutors and assessors help your apprentice learn about the industry standards, preparing them for the future.

How can an apprentice help your business?

New ideas and skills are the driving force behind successful businesses. Our apprenticeship programmes are designed to match your employment and skills needs with a talented and driven apprentice – whether that is a new or current employee. Apprenticeships also enhance the skills of employees, thereby contributing to improved performance and productivity in the workplace.

How does it work?

Whilst an apprentice is working, they must utilise 20% of their working hours completing off-the-job training. Off-the-job training is what apprentices need to earn their qualification. There are numerous ways an apprentice can do this. They can complete online learning or coursework set out by their tutor, have lessons with their tutor in the workplace, shadow experienced colleagues or industry visits. There are plenty of ways a learner can log their off-the-job training.

By the end of their apprenticeship, most learners will take an end point assessment in order to pass. Once your apprentice has passed, you then have the option to hire them as part of your company.
